Norway supports Finland, Sweden NATO bid - PM

Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store welcomed Sweden's and Finland's decision to apply for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) membership in a statement published on Monday on the official government website. Store said that this step will enhance the collective defense and strengthen the security in the North Atlantic area.

Norway's prime minister added that his country, together with Denmark and Iceland is "ready to assist its Nordic neighbors by all means necessary should they be the victim of aggression on their territory before obtaining NATO membership," as Finland's and Sweden's security essential for their own security.

Earlier today, Sweden made an official decision to join NATO, announcing that that is the best decision for the security of this country.
