Former United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to President Donald Trump's decision to pardon those convicted for their participation in riots at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 "an outrageous insult" to the justice system.
Trump commuted the sentences of 14 individuals convicted of participating in the storming of the Capitol building in Washington and granted a full and unconditional pardon to all other individuals convicted of related offenses.
Tonight, the President announced pardons and commutations of sentences for those who violently attacked the Capitol and law enforcement officers on January 6th.
