While industry experts are expecting Amazon.com Inc. to decide soon whether it will move into the prescription drug trade, the e-commerce giant denied in statements to regulators in Tennessee and Indiana that it wants to "store or ship" medicine. A report published by CNBC on Monday cites findings by investment fund operator Jefferies Llc, which obtained documents from the two states, where the company reveals it does intend to market "medical devices and supplies."
Earlier, media in the United States have found Jeff Bezos's online powerhouse got wholesale pharmacy licenses from at least a dozen of state boards. Amazon has been recruiting staff for the division, according to insiders.
