Tesco to reportedly appoint Gerry Murphy as chairman

Tesco PLC is expected to appoint Gerry Murphy, Burberry Group plc and Tate & Lyle plc chair, as its next chairman, Sky News reporter Mark Kleinman tweeted on Saturday.

He will be succeeding John Allan, whose departure was announced back in May 2023. Allan's alleged "inappropriate behavior" was what seemingly led to this decision.

The official announcement will be given some time during next week.
