United States President Donald Trump thanked Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele on Sunday for accepting deported migrants, calling it a response to what he described as failed Democratic leadership.
Trump shared a video of migrants being flown out of the US and taken to El Salvador's CECOT prison, known for its strict security measures. "Thank you to El Salvador and, in particular, President Bukele, for your understanding of this horrible situation," he wrote on Truth Social. "We will not forget," he added.
His message followed the removal of over 200 individuals to El Salvador, with US officials labeling them as members of the Tren de Aragua gang.
