British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's newly agreed-upon Brexit agreement is expected to face opposition from another former prime minister, Liz Truss, joining Boris Johnson in boycotting the Windsor Framework, Sky News wrote on Wednesday citing people familiar with the matter.
"After examining the detail of the Stormont Brake and Windsor Framework, Liz has decided to vote against the Statutory Instrument this afternoon," the sources said, further elaborating that the former prime minister believes that the new plan "fatally impinges" on the UK's ability to break away from the European Union's regulations.
British lawmakers will gather today for the first vote on the Northern Ireland deal.
