British International Trade Secretary Liz Truss announced on Wednesday the United Kingdom would soon submit its request to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Truss went on to describe the group, which comprises Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam, as "one of the world's most dynamic trading areas."
The news comes after the secretary stated Britain was "one step closer" to joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP) after previously reaching a trade deal with Canada.
