Turkish Ministry of Defense talked about the country's relations with Israel on Thursday, after reports on Ankara and Israel meeting in Azerbaijan for their first technical talks on how to prevent conflicts and lessen tensions in Syria.
"Israel, which continues its provocative attacks aimed at harming Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and disrupting its security and stability with groundless and unfounded justifications despite the absence of any threat or attack against itself, should immediately end these attacks. We invite Israel to act in accordance with the principles of good neighborliness and to contribute to Syria's stability and security. In order to establish regional security, Israel must abandon its expansionist and invasive stance," the ministry's spokesperson, Zeki Akturk, said at a press briefing.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underlined that Syria cannot be used by Turkey "as a base to attack Israel."
