United Kingdom's Defence Secretary John Healey stressed on Friday that Britain is "deeply worried" about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon-based Hezbollah and the risk that it might turn into "much wider and much more serious."
"We want both sides now to focus on peace in the future, not on the fighting," Healey told Sky News, underlining that the new proposal for a 21-day ceasefire presented by France and the United States is the possibility for Israel to bring its citizens back to the northern towns and for Lebanon to secure the safe return of its citizens to the south.
Furthermore, the secretary reiterated the calls for British citizens to leave Lebanon. "The travel advice remains the same. Don't go to Lebanon. If you are in Lebanon, then get out. And there are still commercial flights leaving, so people can do that," he noted.
