Major US equities extended their losses in Thursday's session amid rising tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with the Dow Jones losing more than 520 points.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the Russian aggression was imminent and posed the most immediate threat to the world. Biden also mentioned that there is a "high risk" that Russia will invade in the coming days. Meanwhile, the Kremlin answered that these statements only "continue to escalate tensions" in the current situation.
The Dow Jones lost 1.50% at 2:38 pm ET, or 522 points, while the Nasdaq 100 fell 2.31% and the S&P 500 declined by 1.76%. The euro was down by 0.15% against the dollar at 2:48 pm ET, selling for $1.13650.
