US opens lower as earnings season ramps up

Major stock indexes in the United States opened lower on Monday following the Easter break. Investors will be looking ahead to major earnings releases coming up later in the week. Ahead of the market opening, Bank of America reported a slight increase in its first-quarter revenue.

The Dow Jones fell by 15% at 9:30 am ET as Salesforce Inc. declined by 0.44%. The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.09% at the same time with Pinduoduo plunging 7.64%. The S&P 500 was down 0.08%, led by Aptiv PLC, which dropped 3.41%.

The euro traded 0.08% lower compared to the dollar and sold for 1.08061 at 9:31 am ET.
