US staff reportedly stay in Doha amid hostage talk pause

The United States delegation that is in Doha to facilitate hostage negotiations between the Israeli government and representatives of Hamas will remain there to monitor developments and maintain communication with all the involved parties, Politico reported on Thursday citing two anonymous sources.

Both the ceasefire negotiations and those over the release of the abductees have been stalled in Cairo, allegedly because of the military operation that Israel insisted on launching against the city of Rafah where Palestinians fleeing the conflict in other parts of the region were sheltering.
