Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (pictured) stated on Wednesday that United States' actions lead to the aggravation of the Korean crisis.
"The situation on the Korean Peninsula has escalated significantly," Zakharova said, going on to blame the US sanctions against North Korea and "forceful pressure" on Pyongyang to unilaterally disarm for deteriorating conditions. The spokeswoman focused on the recent US and South Korean air drills, one of their largest in history, calling them "a rehearsal for a massive strike on the North Korean territory."
The statement comes as North and South Korea both fired multiple missiles today, with Pyongyang's strikes going over the inter-Korean maritime border for the first time ever.
