Chevron reaches deal with LNG workers in Australia

Chevron Corp. and the Australian Offshore Alliance union reached an agreement on Friday to end strikes at the Gorgon and Wheatstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants. The strikes started in mid-September after negotiations with Chevron failed, causing gas prices to rise.

A spokesperson for the Offshore Alliance said the union endorsed Chevron's latest offer, which included recommendations from Australia's Fair Work Commission. "The Offshore Alliance will now work with Chevron to finalise the drafting of the agreement and members will soon cease current industrial action," the spokesperson said.
