British Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared on Wednesday that he takes "full responsibility" for the lockdown-breaching parties in Downing Street.
"I want to begin by renewing my apology to the whole House, the whole country, for the short lunchtime gathering on 19 June 2020 in Cabinet room for which I received an FPN," said Johnson in a statement addressing Parliament. "I take full responsibility for everything that took place on my watch."
Earlier, United Kingdom senior civil servant Sue Gray presented her report confirming that "many of these gatherings" were "not in line with Covid guidance at the time," adding that parties "were attended by leaders in government."
