United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Thursday that London reached an agreement on Brexit with Brussels and urged British lawmakers to back the deal this weekend.
"We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control — now Parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment #GetBrexitDone #TakeBackControl," Johnson tweeted.
Earlier, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker announced the deal and media reports suggested the Northern Irish DUP is "on board" with it. However, a spokesperson for the party insisted the DUP's position expressed in the statement from earlier today "remains unchanged" and it cannot back the proposed Brexit agreement.
