Lebanon's prime minister warns against war escalation

Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam cautioned on Saturday against the renewal of military conflict in southern Lebanon following Israel's strikes on border towns. The Israeli response came after rockets were fired from Lebanese territory into Israel earlier that day.

Speaking from Beirut, Salam stressed Lebanon's authority in determining its military actions. "All security and military measures must be taken to show that Lebanon decides on matters of war and peace," he said.
