France's President Emmanuel Macron will address the nation on Thursday, December 5, at 8:00 pm local time, in a televised speech, the Elysee Palace announced on Wednesday.

Earlier, French lawmakers voted to topple the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier after just three months in office in the first successful no-confidence vote since 1962, which plunged the country further into political chaos.
