United States Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court nomination in a 52-48 vote.
Earlier in the day, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tried to postpone the vote until after the presidential election, but his request fell on deaf ears as the Senate Republicans moved to secure a 6-3 conservative majority at the country's top court.
Coney Barret will serve as a United States Supreme Court Justice instead of the recently deceased Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was appointed during the Clinton administration.
