Suspect dead after Brussels shooting

The Brussels police shot and killed a suspect in the suburb of Schaerbeek on Tuesday following yesterday's shooting that left two Swedish citizens dead and one injured. Brussels authorities identified the man as 45-year-old Abdelsalem L. of Tunisian origin, suspected of carrying out the shooting, according to public broadcaster RTBF.

Yesterday's incident happened during the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier between Belgium and Sweden, resulting in the terror alert in Brussels being raised to the highest level.
