Recently appointed British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak would like to reach a post-Brexit deal with the European Union on trade in Northern Ireland, his office confirmed on Wednesday.
A Downing Street spokeswoman noted that Sunak told his Irish counterpart Micheal Martin that he hopes there will be goodwill between the involved parties to negotiate an agreement and overcome current challenges.
Positive sentiment on the relations between London and Brussels prevailed today as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also said that she was willing to search for a joint solution to the dispute related to Northern Ireland Protocol.
