Ternopil is also the hometown of Tvorchi, an electronic music duo currently representing Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest which is underway in Liverpool, the United Kingdom. The attack allegedly happened minutes before the Ukrainian duo took the stage at the Grand Final.

"Ternopil...was bombed by Russia while we sang on the Eurovision stage about our steel hearts, indomitability and will," Tvorchi wrote on its Instagram profile. "Europe, unite against evil for the sake of peace," it added.
