European Union is willing to offer a free trade agreement to the United Kingdom, but it will have to include a customs border, according to a report released on Tuesday. Since the UK government refused to be a part of the single market and adopted an uncompromising stance on the EU regulation, giving its goods unrestricted access would result in an unfair advantage.
The only possible option is to have a less integrated trade system, similar to the ones Canada and Japan have, according to a Reuters report.
Earlier, UK Prime Minister Theresa May (pictured) said that a to-deal Brexit outcome is a preferred solution to a Canada-style deal which would break up Britain, while the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier warned there will be "no single market a la carte" in the Brexit agreement.
