French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal (pictured) promised to do "everything" to avoid "the worst" during the snap elections that will be held on June 30 and July 7.
The 35-year-old prime minister also vowed to serve the French people "until the last minute." In his address to the outgoing Renaissance deputies at the group meeting on Tuesday, Attal acknowledged that President Emmanuel Macron's decision to dissolve the parliament unexpectedly was a "brutal" move for members of the parliament.
Macron will hold a press conference on June 12 for the first time after he announced early elections after the far-right National Rally's significant lead over the Renaissance party during the European Parliament elections. The public address comes amid media reports that the president could resign, which the Elysee Palace is said to have dismissed.
