Israel is expecting Hamas to respond to its latest proposal within the next 48 hours, Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 news reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the terms of the proposal are being conveyed to Hamas in Gaza today through the Egyptian delegation, led by intelligence chief Abbas Kamel. Israel is hopeful that Hamas will release 33 hostages, including women, children, men over the age of 50, and those who are ill.
The channel further mentioned that for each additional hostage released, the ceasefire will be extended by one day. During this period, both parties will engage in negotiations aimed at bringing an end to the war and securing the release of all remaining hostages. Earlier, Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that Rafah invasion could be suspended if the parties reach an agreement.
