Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday his government is ready to offer guarantees that it is not looking to build nuclear weapons. However, he repeated Iran wants to negotiate a nuclear deal indirectly because it does not "trust" the United States. Officials from Iran and the US will hold indirect talks in Oman on Saturday.

Pezeshkian said the regime is not opposed to US investment in Iran. "We have a problem with their conspiracy, subversion, and wrong policies, and this is not a place where they can conspire but come and invest," he said, according to the Tasnim News Agency. He repeated Tehran is not "looking for war" but that it will retaliate if attacked. We are not aggressors and we are not going to aggress anyone," he insisted.
