Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced the government has declared a state of emergency in the country on Tuesday, noting that the conflict in Ukraine poses a threat to Hungary's security, energy supplies, and financial security of the economy and families. The state of emergency will allow Budapest to react immediately and protect the country by "all possible means."

The prime minister explained in the video address, that sanctions Brussels has imposed against Russia are causing economic disruption and price spikes, emphasizing that the world is on "the verge of an economic crisis." Orban noted that the country must remain "neutral" in this conflict and focus on providing financial security to its citizens.
