Slovakia's acting Prime Minister Eduard Heger (pictured) announced on Friday his government will send Soviet-made MIG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine to help it repel Russia's military operation, thus becoming the second North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) country to provide the conflict-hit nation with such planes, after Poland.

Speaking to reporters, Heger explained Slovakia will send all of its operating jets and use the rest to provide parts. Slovakia previously landed its fleet. Heger added Slovakia will also send parts of its KUB air defense system to Ukraine.

The day before, Poland revealed it will send four MiG-29s to Ukraine.
