The United Nations (UN) denounced Friday a deadly attack by Israeli settlers on the Palestinian village of Jit in the occupied West Bank, describing it as "horrific."
UN spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani stressed that this violence is not an isolated event but a result of Israel's ongoing settlement expansion in the region. Meanwhile, Germany also condemned the attack, calling it "unacceptable" and urging Israel to ensure the safety of Palestinians in the West Bank. "This violence is unacceptable, the attacks must stop immediately," its foreign ministry stated.
The attack, which left one Palestinian dead and another injured, has prompted criticism from the United Kingdom, France, the United States and the same Israeli government.
