Chinese President Xi Jinping and his United States counterpart Joe Biden did not discuss the situation in the Chinese province of Xinjiang, according to Beijing.
Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Friday that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre gave "false information" when she claimed yesterday that Biden raised the issues of "genocide and forced labor practices" by China during his conversation with Xi.
"Those accusations about Xinjiang are utter lies," Zhao told reporters at a press briefing, according to the Global Times.
