Iran has enriched uranium above 4.5% on Monday, Sky News Arabia reported.

After 60 days expired from its announcement that it will withdraw from parts of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran announced on Sunday that it started uranium enrichment above 3.67% set in the Iran nuclear deal. At the time, officials stated Tehran wants to enable its Bushehr nuclear power plant to work for which it needs uranium enriched to 5%.

Iran is facing strong criticism for its move from JCPOA signatories while the United States, which exited the nuclear deal in 2018, threatened to impose more sanctions on Tehran.
