China state-affiliated Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday that over 100 warplanes and ten warships were sent to take part in a "joint blockage operation" military drills around Taiwan following United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to the island.

The drills took place in six different zones near the island, using an improved version of missiles that strike "with precision." Yesterday, several Chinese missiles flew over Taiwan, while others landed in Japan's exclusive economic zone. The drills are expected to end on Sunday.
