Russian envoy: F-16 deliveries escalate conflict

Delivery of F-16s to Ukraine by Denmark and the Netherlands leads to an escalation of the conflict, the Russian ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin said on Monday.

"By hiding behind a premise that Ukraine itself must determine the conditions for peace, Denmark seeks with its actions and words to leave Ukraine with no other choice but to continue the military confrontation with Russia," he stated in a message.

The Russian envoy's statement comes after Denmark decided to donate 19 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine while the training of pilots had already started in that country.
