United States President Donald Trump, pictured right with Vice President Mike Pence, said all options are on the table regarding the situation in Venezuela. He spoke in the Oval Office after recognizing Juan Guaido, president of the National Assembly, as the interim head of state instead of Nicolas Maduro.
Earlier, an unnamed senior US official told reporters the regime in Venezuela must refrain from using force against the opposition's parliament. Maduro's administration has its own legislative body. The White House insider also said the government would take every possible option seriously, but he fell short of hinting at military intervention.
Pence today said America stands with Guaido and the people of Venezuela.
