US preparing more action against China, insiders say

EPA / SHAWN THEW

United States President Donald Trump approved a plan for the White House to launch a verbal offensive against the government in Beijing, Axios learned from confidential sources. The report reveals the strategy should be robust and "administration-wide," apparently led by National Security Council officials, and including the departments of the Treasury, commerce and defense.

The article adds China would be portrayed in a bad light equivalently to Russia, as a "bogeyman" and that there would be "substantive" measures. The administration sees the other side's conduct as "hostile" for both the private and the public sector, it reveals. The focus will allegedly be on the "malign activity" in the cybersphere, election interference and intellectual property.
