United States President Joe Biden is becoming increasingly frustrated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reluctance to comply with the administration's recent proposals regarding the war in Gaza, including the access of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave, people familiar with the matter told Axios on Sunday.
"They are pleading with the Netanyahu coalition, but getting slapped in the face over and over again," sources disclosed. It appears that the Netanyahu administration also rejected Washington's proposal for a reformed Palestinian Authority to have a role in the governance of the Gaza Strip.
Namely, Biden and Netanyahu have not engaged in communication since the reportedly tense conversation between them occurred before the New Year. In that discussion, the US president insisted that Israel release the Palestinian tax revenues that it is currently withholding.
