The former head of Interpol Meng Hongwei (pictured) pleaded guilty to bribery in a court hearing on Thursday, Chinese media reported.
Meng disappeared last September during a visit to China, where it was later revealed he was arrested on bribery charges.
Prosecutors claim the ex-chief of Interpol took 14.5 million yuan ($2.1 million) in bribes and was expelled from the Communist Party in March.
