Former Interpol president, Meng Hongwei (pictured), was sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison in his native China after pleading guilty to bribery charges last year, a Chinese court ruled on Tuesday.
The ex-interpol head was also fined 2 million yuan ($290,000). According to Chinese media, Meng is not planning to appeal the sentence.
Meng was reported missing during a visit to China in 2018 and it was revealed shortly after that he was arrested on bribery charges.
