Downing Street Chief of Staff Dan Rosenfield handed his resignation this morning and United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson accepted it, a government spokesperson announced on Thursday.

Also, several other Johnson's senior aides, such as his Principal Private Secretary Martin Reynolds and Downing Street Director of Communications Jack Doyle have also stepped down from their respective roles. Rosenfield and Reynolds will remain on board until their successors are appointed. Director of the Number 10 Policy Unit Munira Mirza also quit earlier in the day, citing the prime minister's failure to apologize for directing a discredited allegation against Labour Party Leader Keir Starmer as the reason for her departure from the government.

During a parliament speech earlier this week, Johnson vowed to repair issues with the "fragmented and complicated leadership structures of Downing Street."
