Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the Black Sea initiative, or the Black Sea grain deal, and the safety of shipping will be the main topics to be discussed in the ongoing meeting between the United States and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia.

"We proceed from the fact that the Black Sea initiative and all topics related to the renewal of this initiative are on the agenda today, it was a proposal by [US President [Donald] Trump, and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin agreed to it. It was with this mandate that our delegation traveled to Riyadh," Peskov said at a press briefing.

Furthermore, the spokesperson ensured that both Washington and Moscow want to bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end, stressing that both parties still have many technical issues to discuss and resolve.
