Outgoing United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday congratulated her soon-to-be successor Boris Johnson on winning the Tory leadership race, announcing that she plans to remain in the UK politics as a Member of the Parliament.
"Many congratulations to Boris Johnson on being elected leader of Conservatives - we now need to work together to deliver a Brexit that works for the whole UK and to keep Jeremy Corbyn out of government. You will have my full support from the back benches," May tweeted.
Shortly before the results of the leadership contest between Johnson and the country's Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt were announced, May concluded her last cabinet meeting. Earlier, it was announced that May would answer her last prime minister questions in front of the British lawmakers.
