Grace Meng, the wife of missing Interpol President Meng Hongwei, said at a press conference in Lyon on Sunday that her husband sent her a photo of a knife shortly before he disappeared. She added that she interpreted the message as a sign of danger.
On Friday, French authorities launched a probe into Meng's disappearance as his wife reported he was missing a week after he traveled to his native China. Interpol asked Chinese authorities to provide official information on the status of the Interpol head.
Meanwhile, reports emerged in China that Meng is under investigation in the country and was allegedly taken for questioning as soon as he landed in China.
