United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a letter to House Democrats on Monday that impeaching US President Donald Trump is not the only way to find out the truth about his alleged collusion with Russia and obstruction of justice.
Pelosi stressed that the pursuit for the truth should be based on facts and "free from passion or prejudice" and added it is "important to know that the facts regarding holding the President accountable can be gained outside of impeachment hearings." The House speaker also noted that it is still not known if Trump is "indictable" but claimed he has "at a minimum, engaged in highly unethical and unscrupulous behavior" and tried to "thwart cooperation with independent prosecutors."
The House speaker stressed Democrats will continue urging Attorney General William Barr to release the complete report to the public as the redacted version is not enough. Earlier, Barr stated the Mueller report showed there was no collusion and no obstruction of justice and the US president stressed he cannot be impeached based on the document.
